“ As a person who grew up on La Pola Cuban sandwiches from West New York in Hudson County, this is an awesome alternative. I can't say if it's better because it's been years since I've been there, and I just found out it has since closed. So for today (National Cuban Sandwich Day, August 23rd), I went on a mission to get it near me. This place did not disappoint, and I'm so happy I discovered them! The sandwich is $10 each, and for dinner later, I got the Ropa Vieja. They gave me a very nice portion, which can easily be for two people, at $15, you can't go wrong. The ambiance is very neighborly, authentic, and the ladies behind the counter were attentive, fast, and the place looked clean, even where the food is, which is great. Sometimes Latin restaurants can look like they cook with a whole lot of grease, but I can attest this place is definitely not one of them, which is great. Overall, I can assure I will definitely be coming back to get some of that house cooking I sometimes miss from home. ”
“ I went to the Perth Amboy for the first time. We walked by the beach and the historic buildings. We got hungry and really wanted to check out the Latin restaurants in the area. The Cuban Cafe is great. Great menu, fast service. We got a cuban sandwich and a media noche sandwich. Surprise! Its the same sandwich the only difference is the bread. One had a hotdog bun and the other was on crusty italian bread. They both had ham, pernil, swiss cheese, pickles and mustard. YUM!!! We are definitely coming back for the rice dishes. I forgot to take pics but it was very very good. The cafe con leche was excellent ”
“ Omg, and you have but no choice to start a review with Omg, when slather out after gorging on whatever tongue dancing delight you decided to devour. For me, it's the oxtail that'll leave your stomach begging your fingers to continue to lick the tantalizing sauce from under the nails. Add their homemade hot sauce and it's on, baby! I don't just stop at the oxtail their Cuban sandwiches will go down and samy lore history, every portion in this place is more than sizable, you will get your moneys worth. Fairly clean with plenty of outside street parking or a lot right across the way to pay a minimal fee. I'm on table stool sits with about seven or eight seats and 9 or 10 booths so, plenty of seating. Primarily spanish-speaking as expected but the service is very friendly and make sure you get a Cuban coffee for the road. My highest recommendation. ”

“ Authentic, tasty and the biggest challenge faced here is what to order. SO many wonderful dishes. Prices are reasonable and the dining area is comfortable . Staff were friendly. Coffee was excellent. The Cuban sandwich was tasty and packed with flavor. We split two of their pastries that were light and a perfect end to a great meal. ”
